Who We Are

We are a joint PTA for Knaphill Lower School and Knaphill School, both located in Knaphill village, Woking, Surrey.

What is the PTA? Our PTA is a Parent Teacher Association and all parents/guardians and teaching or non-teaching staff are automatic members. It is run by the committee, who organise and run fun activities and events that foster closer relationships between school staff and parents, provide fun social events for the children and raise additional funds for the benefit of the children, now and in the future. We are a registered charity (number 311983) and everyone is a volunteer.

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place once a year.
The PTA Committee is elected at the AGM and other official business is attended to.
Our last AGM was on 22 September 2009. We revoted our Chair , Secretary and Treasurer back in for another year along with 16 other members .We now have a very healthy Committee membership and we look forward to a great variety of events this year.

Money Raised

In 2007/2008 the PTA's efforts generated £16,000. Contributions were made towards the Knaphill School pool & minibus, the nursery astro turf and classroom resources for the Lower School at Christmas time.

Last year (08-09), the PTA raised over £18,000 this money went towards the new play surface and equipment in the Reception playground, more Christmas class resources and conversion of the junior school pool changing rooms to include a WC, pool repairs, pool electricity costs.

This year (09/10) we will be raising money for a cover outside the main hall in the lower school and continuing to support the running costs of the swimming pool in the junior school.

Would you like to help?

We’re all volunteers. Organising and running the events takes a lot of time and effort so the more of us there are, the easier it becomes.

For instance, after a disco the school hall has to be cleaned, floors mopped and all the gym equipment put back, ready for normal use the next day. It makes a lot of difference if a few parents picking up their children at the end of the disco stay and help for half an hour.

There are many other ways in which you can help, even if work commitments prevent you from attending committee meetings or events: you might be able to enlist local media's help in promoting our forthcoming events, print our flyers or banners, make cakes to sell at events etc.

You can also make regular or adhoc donations to the PTA funds with cash, cheque or standing order. (If you pay tax your donation will qualify for Gift Aid)

You can get involved in many ways:
- Join the Committee
- Donate time/materials
- Help with Christmas crafts
- Saturday morning football
- Summer Fete/Christmas Fayre planning
- Suggest fundraising ideas
- Give us your feedback
- Come to the events!!!
