Our Progress

Firstly, the good news is that we had a fantastic start to this
academic year and, thanks to all your help and support, we raised
just over £10,000 for our schools in the Autumn term!
We are
absolutely thrilled and are hopeful that with your continued
involvement we’ll be able to smash our annual target of £20,000
This term we are looking to start introducing some more
eco-friendly ideas to what we do as a PTA, including:
Getting a second-hand uniform shop up and running
Reducing the amount of single-use plastics we use at
events (the upcoming disco for starters)
Encouraging recycling at all our events by providing
recycling ‘stations’, and a Bag2School collection.

Kids delighted in the lucky dip and facepainting on offer at the local Knaphill Fireworks display where our PTA raised 130 while keeping the little ones entertained before the main event.

We had a very successful Spooky Cake sale , with some amazing creations from our talented families rasing a tidy sum of £320 between our schools

THANK YOU SO MUCH for supporting our discos last week. We had an unprecedented amount of disco-goers and altogether managed to raise £1,500 for our schools!

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Meet and
Greet, and our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Both events
were attended by some new faces keen to find out more
about who we are, what we do and how they could
become more involved.
Our AGM highlighted a few things which we ought to
communicate further:
1. The PTA is a registered charity… so, if you are thinking of doing a sponsored activity, or are
looking to donate to a local charity, then please do consider us
2. We will endeavor to provide more info/updates regarding what the funds are used for and
how our children benefit
3. What the Federation’s Wish List is for the year ahead, so that we understand why we are trying
to raise funds and how much we need in order to fulfil those wishes

And so, the end of the 2017/2018 academic year, and our first year of running the PTA, is almost upon us. What a busy year
it’s been, with lots to learn and lots to do! But, with lots of help and support along the way, we’ve had a fabulous year and
are thrilled at our achievements.
Our key aim for the year was to provide activities and events that were fun for both children and adults, whilst also helping
raise additional funds for both of our schools. By enabling our schools to purchase materials/equipment and fund projects
beyond the scope of standard school budgets, we are able to enhance our schools and thereby the learning environment of
our children.
Our fundraising target for the year was £20,000 and we are extremely pleased to let you know that we smashed that target,
raising over £21,000, via the following activities and events:
Movie nights
Cake sales
Christmas Fair
Panto tickets
Christmas cards
Table top sale
Surrey Half Marathon
Race night
Quiz night
Summer Fair
Dads Camping
Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed in some way, thereby helping us to make this happen. The Junior School is
looking forward to purchasing more iPads with a portion of the monies raised, alongside some outside chalkboards. The Lower
School is in the process of refurbishing the Learning Resource Library and turning it into a stunning Woodland Forest themed
area. The first stage of the building work and the forest floor is going to be completed over the summer holiday.
Good luck to all those moving onto pastures new. We look forward to seeing everyone else back at school in September
ready for another busy 2018-2019 school year!

Wow!!!!  We are around the £15 000 mark now which is very exciting and only another 5k to smash our target with the Summer Fair, Dads Camping and the Yr 2 Movie night and Lower School Summer Disco to finish off the school year !!

Despite being in the Piazza due to bad weather and under a gazebo on the Junior grounds we still managed to raise and whopping £375 between both schools !  The creations brought in by some very talented family members went down a treat with the kids and grown-ups alike!

Thank you for all your support at the Quiz night,  it was great fun and together we raised £1000 for our schools.

The two movie nights saw the Yr 3-6 enjoying Matilda and School of Rock with their mates ,  cushions and popcorn filled the hall which brought in another £295
Bag2School bagged us a tidy £165 from all your donated clothes – such a good way to do a clear out and boost the PTA pot!

From quiet beginnings, this turned out to be a rather busy term after all, during which you have helped us raise around £5,000 for our schools!  Alongside the more regular movie nights, cake  sales and discos, we also held a Table Top Sale and a Race Night, and had a team of parents take part in the Surrey Half Marathon.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all our Surrey Half Runners. Not only did you complete the race, but you’ve also helped raise over £1000 (incl. Gift Aid) for our schools.

Thanks once again to all of you who came and helped make 2018’s race night an enormous success! The sum total raised is £1450.
Thanks to everyone – from those who always help behind the scenes, to those who helped set up, to the totes wonderful totes helpers, to those who tidied away throughout the evening and everyone who helped clear up at the end. You are a truly fabulous bunch of people and did our schools proud!!.
Thank you  for all  your generous donations throughout the evening, and to those of you who returned your winnings to the pot – we are truly grateful for that!
Although the food delivered wasn’t exactly as ordered, we hope you all enjoyed it!

A slightly quieter half term but we have hosted 2 super fun movie nights raising almost   £385  selling lots of popcorn, sweeties and of course hotdogs while our Yr 3-6 children enjoyed a movie with their friends in make-shift beanbag sofa’s!

A table top sale which was a bit low in footfall and we had hoped for more support from our children and parents from both schools  however the event itself had amazing value for money items, very enthusiastic sellers and the parents enjoyed a cuppa and cake while the kids took to designing sand art creations which in turn  raised us approximately £291.90 in total!   Certainly an event we may re-visit in future!

Our  Valentines Cake sale where our families WOW’d us once again with their gorgeous creations  helped us raise another £260!

We are now at roughly  over £9000……only £11 000 more to raise for our children and the school!!

Thank You for every little bit of support given to the PTA team and toward monies raised for the schools.

Thanks to every one of you who helped and supported us throughout the Autumn term– especially with regards to the Christmas
Fair. We are very grateful for all the help we receive, and could not run our eventswithout you!
With a current total of £8,000+ we are well on the way towards our annual target of £20,000

In the autumn term we raised funds via:
· Discos
· Spooky cake sale
· Knaphill Scouts bonfire night
· Christmas cards
· Pantomine tickets

Our biggest fundraising event of the term was our Christmas Fair, seeing huge numbers of locals and family visitors through the doors to our school ,  thank you for all your support in raising over £5,000 in a single event!

A fun night was had by all at the Panto at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking – Robin Hood  plus ice-creams for the family

School community support was shown once again by our parents and pupils who came to visit our stand at the Scout’s Firework Dispaly while we painted and glittered over 150 faces/arms raising £75.00  with Sam and Smithry making the local newspaper!

Amazing cake creations donated for our Spooky Cake Sale at both schools helped raise £328

Thank you to all the families who supported the disco and  helped us raise a whopping £1,000 for both our schools!
